“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2
Vision Statement:
The Bereavement ministry has a vision of helping families during the loss of a loved one. Our mission is not only to serve food when they are unable to do so, but also have a caring heart to offer the church’s sympathy. We feel that this is a time when the church is able to extend our hands to a hurting family.
The ministry of benevolence was created several years ago as a method of assisting and comforting church members who are dealing with the death of a loved one. Because of our large membership, this ministry is limited to church members and their close relatives: i.e. parents and children.

Upon notification of a death, the church sends a beautiful flower arrangement to the funeral home. Then, the Coordinator of the Benevolence Ministry contacts members or volunteers to cook and serve a meal following the funeral service. The meal may be served in the church fellowship hall or delivered to the member’s home. The church purchases a meat and cheese tray for the dinner, but all other food is made or donated by the members themselves.

The Benevolence Ministry is an excellent way of showing compassion and concern for your fellow church members.
